Developed and launched using 3D printing

Rehook is now manufactured using injection moulding. However our launch product was 3D printed. The latest 'Laser Sintering' techniques and materials enabled us to produce high quality production parts without a large initial investment

Rapid Prototyping

Using the power of 3D printing the team were able to rapidly prototype Rehook. With production cycles measured in hours (not weeks) we were able to fine tune the design and perfect the tool. This quickly prepared the team to move to larger scale production with injection moulding

Today

We soon reached the production capacity of SLS 3D printing (around 400 per month) and invested in tooling for injection moulding. This has allowed us to meet demand for online sales direct to consumers as well as enabling us start selling though other channels.

We have since launched packages for Retailers and provide Rehook to bike stores and repair shops. Packages include counter-top display boxes which enable shoppers to view demonstration videos, find online reviews and link to social media. The packaging was inspired by recent research which has shown that in-store purchasing decisions are increasingly influenced by online reviews and videos - often viewed whilst in-store. We have therefore incorporated proximity technology, including NFC, to help make this a seamless experience. By taping a mobile device to the display, customers can find all of the information they need about the product including seeing videos of how easy it it to use.
